Vahagn and Astghik Waterfalls

If one is tired of heat in the city and is eager to escape somewhere to freshen up, then visiting “pearls” of Armenian nature – waterfalls, is the very right idea. Two of them, Vahagn and Astghik, are located at “Khosrov Forest State Reserve”. The waterfalls are connected to each other by their mythological names: in the earliest prehistoric period (Pagan times) Astghik was worshipped as the Goddess of beauty and fertility, the lover/wife of Vahagn the Dragonfighter – God of fire and war.
