Itinerary

Armenian Alphabet Alley
Armenian Alphabet Alley

Armenian Alphabet Monument is located in the village of Artashavan, at the east side bottom of Mount Aragats. It was erected in 2005 to the 1600th anniversary of creation of the Armenian alphabet by the design of the famous Armenian architect Jim Torosyan.

Amberd Fortress
Amberd Fortress

Amberd is a 10th-century fortress located 2,300 meters (7,500 ft) above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Aragats at the confluence of the Arkashen and Amberd rivers in the province of Aragatsotn, Armenia. The name translates to "fortress in the clouds" in Armenian. It is also the name incorrectly attributed to Vahramashen Church, the 11th-century Armenian church near the castle. The village of Byurakan is 6.4 kilometres (4.0 mi) from the site of Amberd.

Mount Aragats
Mount Aragats

The highest peak of the Republic of Armenia is the Mount Aragats (4095 m). This four-peaked giant is the most favorite mountain of climbers. On the way to the southern peak, the best stop is at Kari Lich (Stone Lake), which is at the height of 3250m. On the top, one opens the most attractive scene: the silhouette of green valleys from one side, the eternal snow and silver lakes from other sides and the Biblical Mount Ararat far in the fog of Ararat Valley.

Lake Kari

It is located 3,185 m above the sea level and has a perimeter of 1,150 m.[1] From Byurakan village an asphalt automobile road stretches towards the source of Arkashen River, the lake Kari, located on a plateau below the peaks.
